Small and simple things?

The Pearl of Great Price? Stake Center? Agency? Restoration? Endowment? Baptisms for the dead? Mia Maids? Quorums?

For members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (formerly known as Mormons), these terms are just a few pieces of our commonplace vocabulary. But unless you were raised in a Latter-Day Saint home, learning the doctrines, the abbreviations, and the lingo can feel like being dropped on another planet. No wonder we in the Church are so often misunderstood.

The Church has a lot of nuance, complexity, history, and theology to wrap your head around. But as the Book of Mormon teaches, it’s not the complex and impressive stuff that God uses to get things done, for “by small and simple things are great things brought to pass.”

This podcast aims to break down the beliefs, practices, and culture of the Church and its members into one “small and simple thing” each episode. No members-only lingo and no head-spinning scholarly deep dives. Just the basics, explained in plain English, and hopefully a litt bit of fun along the way.
